Brisbane dream pop four-piece, Cheers G’day premiere their new video for single ‘Fight Club’. The melancholic slow burner will feature on their forthcoming EP Humid Dayze, set for release via Burger Records subsidiary, Wiener Records later this year.
The video feels like a dusted off VHS drenched in nostalgia and features subtle references to the David Fincher film of the same name. The references are purely symbolic, however, as the track tells the story of a dying relationship where only constant bickering is left.
Drawing on 80’s pop and shoegaze influences, Fight Club demonstrates Cheer’s G’day’s ability to master their perfect blend of reverb-soaked, fuzzy dream pop that’s ideal for a lazy afternoon.
